04/12/03 | Dr. Stank Left MCA

Dr. Stank & the management Sugar Ill have been dropped from MCA Records last week. This is due to cutbacks and the horrible financial state of the industry. Intercope Pres Jimmy Iovine had been running MCA since the 1st of the year and is merging some of MCA departments with Interscope, so he got rid of like 80% of the MCA roster. But the Dr. Stank album is finished and its entitled "The Oder". There is no release date but they are still pushing the lead single "Smell Me". They have labels already interested but until then they are just going to blanket the street's with the single on the Radio. In other news, Stank & the crew are working on a Sugar Ill mixtape for the streets called "Got E?" (E stand for Empire for those who didnt know). It will feature Stank, Sly Boggy, Dirty Birdy, Funcsta Func, Homeless Nation, ODM, and other hot new shit. Expect the mixtape in the Spring. We'll keep you posted

04/12/03 | Nate Dogg Pushed Back

Nate Dogg's new self titled album has been pushed back again. There is no new date but Nate is finishing up the last two tracks for the new album this week together with Dr. Dre & 50 Cent.

"I'll be finished with it by the end of next week, I went and revamped a few things. I got Dre producing a couple of them and 50 Cent on one. I got the opportunity to put them on, so I postponed it. You got to have them kind of cats on there. Hopefully the song with 50 will be a dance record or something real aggressive. Dre is doing the beat right now, so once that’s done we'll be on it." Nate said.

04/12/03 | Audio Update

Some people asked for the track playing in the background on the Doggystyle trailer they once had on the official website. Its the track called "Girls Gone Wild" from the self-titled DVD that came out last year. It has Snoop Dogg, Soopafly, Bad Azz, Kokane & Don Magic Juan and was produced by Fredwreck. The track can be heard right here, "Girls Gone Wild".

Butch Cassidy has a very dope track on the "Malibu's Most Wanted Soundtrack" which is out now. The song is called "I Want You Girl", and was produced by the one and only Dj Quik. His laid back vocals and the tight production makes for a good combination.

Nate Dogg has the self-titled theme song for the "Head Of State" Soundtrack, a short snippet can be heard right here..."Head Of State". No idea when or if the soundtrack is coming out, because it should be out by now. Nate & Dj Quik recorded a couple of songs for that, one being their collabo "This Is What They Think Of U".

Next up a track from the upcoming Kay Slay album "The Street Sweeper Vol. I". The track has MC Ren, Kam & E-A-Ski and its called "Westside Drive By".

Last but not least two requested songs, the Remix to Daz' first single which is gettin radio airplay..."All Night Long (Chops Remix)" and a Ras Kass track that was recently recorded. Its called "R.A.S. - Run Away Slave (Fuck Priority)". The title says it all, its about the label drama and him not givin his album back to Priority. Look for his new album "Re-Up" coming later this year.

Featured tracks is Westside Connection's "Lightz Out" (the video for the song is set to shoot later this month), Shade Sheist's freestyle "Betta Watch" and the official "Wake Up" ree-mix entitled "Rude Awakening" feat. Butch Cassidy, N.U.N.E., Knoc-turn'al, Warren G, Mack 10, and O.G.LB, produced by Damizza. It also features samples from N.U.N.E.'s upcoming PaperWork full-length lp, as well as some new Dr. Stank, new Kurupt, an exclusive Mariah Carey ree-mix, and freestyles from Damizza, Da Brat, and Busta Rhymes!
