paper 08/31/04 | 213 "Groupie Luv (G-Funk Remix)" (Audio)
g dub      Since 213's "The Hard Way" didnt have any Warren G production on it, it was only right for the G-Child to go ahead and remix the first single "Groupie Luv". And what can you say... Warren laced a laid back beat which has that smooth G-Funk sound that his fans love to hear. Tracks like these keep me wondering why they didnt let him produce any songs on the album... We got the audio up for you to listen: 213 "Groupie Luv (G-Funk Remix)".

Also, please sign this petition which urges Warren to take into consideration a Warren G Remix Project for the 213 album. Who knows if its gonna work, but it wont hurt to try.

paper 08/28/04 | Sly Boogy Album/Mixtape Update
sly boogy      Sly Boogy's upcoming J Records debut has been pushed back and should drop towards the end of the year. In the meantime he's staying busy by releasing another underground album / mixtape in early October. It will have both original and industry beats. Right now they are gearing up for the next street single which is called "Its Nothin" produced by Scott Storch. They got another one coming after that with Jagged Edge called "If You Got Crew". J Records leaked and pressed it on vinyl but they pulled it back cause they felt that people aint ready for that one yet, so be on the lookout for the Scott Storch cut coming up next. In addition to this, Boogy recorded a song called "They Dont Know" for Damizza's upcoming mixtape produced by Damizza & mixed by Dj Quik.

paper 08/28/04 | Mista Grimm Update / Correction
Here is one of those guest appearances I was talking about which Mista Grimm has been doing after the guest spots on Warren G's "Return of The Regulator". Grimm appeared on T-Bone's album "Gospelalphamegafunkyboogiediscomusic" which he released in late 2002. The song was called "Dippin" and has that nice West Coast feel to it.Also, the track with King Tee is apparently older than expected, probably around the same time as "Dippin". Props to the homie June for the correction.

paper 08/20/04 | Xzibit Talks About New Single & Album
xzibit      With the first single from his new record, Xzibit is almost certainly guaranteeing himself a coveted television appearance this fall. The song is called "Saturday Night Live" and its produced by Jelly Roll and features Krondon.

"It's a real feel-good track," X told MTV News. "It's what you play on your way to the club and what you play when you get into the club and what you play after you're leaving the club on the way to the house."

"Saturday Night Live" will be featured on Xzibit's fifth album, Weapons of Mass Destruction, due November 9 on Sony Urban Records.

"I'm executive-producing this record and it's 15 banging tracks. We've got a lot of good production on there. I've got my team on there, Strong Arm Steady. And Busta Rhymes got down on there. It's a really strong album and I'm very, very excited about putting it out." X said.

Xzibit is shooting the video for "Saturday Night Live" in a few weeks, although that's all he's saying about the clip.

"I'm not gonna spoil it before it's done, because all video treatments look kinda the same, but it's gonna be nice," he said. "We gonna present the West Coast in a very new manner. We haven't been out in the forefront in a long time, so it's just time to have some fun with it and show how we do it on the West Side."

X is currently shooting "XXX 2: The State of the Union" with Ice Cube and Samuel L. Jackson.

"It's the most exciting thing that's ever happened to me," X said of the movie. "I play Zeke, I'm one of Ice Cube's homeboys/ weapons specialists, so you should see me get my chops up. It's going really well."

paper 08/11/04 | More New VERB'L songs
verb'l      Here is some more new music from VERB'L. On "We Can Heat It" he borrows Kurupt's "We Can Freak It" and uses the services of King David, an up and coming artist and producer, to lace the hooks. "Soul Survivor" is dealing with racial issues as well as life itself. King David laces the vocals of one-of-a-kind track by VERB'L. "Tonight" is yet another classic old school remake from the man himself. Again, with the aid of King David. VERB'L is sending out a message on "Let A Man Be A Man" covering certain issues going on in the world today as well as the current state of the West Coast, over cool and funky production.
