paper 01/19/05 | Guce & Messy Marv On "50 Explanations"
SAN FRANCISCO, CA– The streets remain silent no more. San Francisco, California Rap/Street legends Guce and Messy Marv unleash "50 Explanations." Unlike recent lashes against 50 Cent, Guce & Messy Marv used a never before heard verse from the G-Unit general against himself.

According to the pair of Californians, the animosity popped off from 50's visit to San Francisco three years ago. When Messy Marv and Guce attempted to greet him, they claim that 50's bodyguards held them off.

"He came to San Francisco 20 cars deep in a bulletproof van," Messy Marv said. "We personally tried to get at the ni--a, and he was on some scared ass sh-t. But he's portraying to the masses that he's the hardest ni--a on earth. We don't respect that."

While the acrimony heightened with 50's "dry snitching" — "I seen him on BET saying all the punk sh-t, snitching on ni--as," Guce said, "and the industry let that sh-t slide, but we don't have the voice in the industry so there's not much we can do about that" — it was further fueled by the Game's boasts of self-made. "You should've heard this ni--a on TV the other night," Guce said. "'I created my own buzz;' you lying like f--k. [West Coast producer] Sean T made your beats, my ni--a Ghazi was loaning you money, with your broke ass. He owes a lot to the Bay."

While Guce and Messy Marv plan to release their Bullies Wit Fullys 3: The Infrastructure group album this summer, Marv is releasing his solo project February 15. The disc, Bandanas, Tattoos and Tongue Rings features guest appearances by Guce, Dead Prez, E-40 and Yukmouth.

"We aren't jumping on the bandwagon," Marv adds. "Everybody else is just doing it because everybody else is dissing [50 Cent]."

"We didn’t do this song to create a buzz. We sell our units without it– we could give a f-ck. We aren't going to make it a habit of dissing these ni--as," Guce maintains. "We're just going to get what we have to get off our chest. Ni--as bump into each other, it's on on-site; there's not going to be no talking, 'what's up ni--a,' there's not gonna be none of that. It is what it is; you don’t want it, shut your mouth and keep moving with your bodyguards. We're hungry out here; we're underdogs, we've got nothing to lose."

“50 Explainations” appears on Guce's upcoming album Pill Music, in stores March 29.

paper 01/19/05 | Roscoe Press Release
roscoe       LOS ANGELES - Roscoe, Kurupt's younger brother was pronounced dead and revived on January 2,2005 after a Car crash that left him in critical condition and six others injured. 01/16/05 | Introducing Young Maylay: The New West
young maylay       I would like to take the time to introduce you to a new breed from the depths of the West Coast. He goes by the name of Young Maylay, his name may be new to some but his voice will sound familiar to a lot of people. Young Maylay was the lead voice actor in the "GTA: San Andreas" video game doing Carl "CJ" Johnson. Maylay was recommended to Rockstar Games by DJ Pooh who was sought after for a contribution to the game. Pooh told them he had the perfect guy in mind, and the rest was history. And with the buzz behind the game I tought that I would give the fans a much needed introduction to him as a rapper along with some exclusive music because everybody been waiting to hear from Maylay ever since they heard his affecting performance as the voice of CJ.

People first got a sneak peak of Maylay's gutter charismatic flow around the time the GTA game was released. It was the song called "Salute'n G's" featuring the legendary King T and production by Da Riffs. It can be heard on the DJ Warrior/Clinton Sparks mixtape "Coast Control Vol. 1". Maylay also appeared on a track on that same mixtape along with Roscoe and Tristate.

Young Maylay collaborated on a few more tracks with King T, they been working together for years and as Young Maylay himself puts it "King T schooled me up when I was runnin' around on the block. He put me in the studio so thats my OG homie, whatever he needs I'm there for him". Maylay also wrote the majority of T's underground album "Ruthless Chronicles" which came out in late 2004.

Now I know that you wanna hear what Maylay is all about, so I'm not gonna hold it back cause we got some exclusive audio for the viewers out there. The first track we got for you is a solo track called "Knock Tha Box". This song showcases not only his amazing MC skills but his voice and delivery. Another outstanding song and one of my fav's is the cut "Inna Ghetto" featuring King T, Bad Azz, and Da Homie E. This is some straight West Coast heat right there and has me hyped for more.

» Young Maylay - Knock Tha Box
» Young Maylay - Inna Ghetto Ft. King T, Bad Azz, Da Homie E

Both those songs are featured on his album which will be available in our online store as soon as the album is completed. It will have songs with King T, DJ Pooh, Bad Azz, Dresta, Da Homie E, and many more. Below is the tentative tracklisting from his album but it will have some changes because he's gonna add like 5 or 6 new tracks to it to make it a full length album.

Album cover & tentative tracklisting:

young maylay

01. Untitled Feat. Tha FCC
02. Salute'n G's Feat. King T
03. Inna Ghetto Feat. King T, Bad Azz, Da Homie E
04. Aint Official Like Us Feat. Tha LiL Homies
05. Ghetto Stars Feat. Tha Bangers
06. Ride, Swerve, Slide Feat. Destrukto
07. California to Vegas Feat. Ed Bone, Danny Girl
08. Wanna Be Like Us
09. Strip Shows Feat. D Dope
10. Knock Da Box
11. We Like Feat. D Dope

As you can see Maylay is runnin with some of the big dogs from the West Coast but he's trying to showcase himself and make it on his own without having to rely on the help of high profile appearances. And now that you all have learned about Maylay as a rapper I want to tell everybody to be on the lookout for much more coming from him cause he's definitely a force to reckon with for the New West movement, and Westcoast2k will be here to bring it to you all. Personally I can't wait to see him grow and progress his skills even more. Oh boy the kid got fire!

As you can see they are expanding their horizons, so get with it or be out. DJ Warrior told us that its an honor to work with DJ Muggs, whom Warrior looked up to in the past. And last but not least, expect a "Outlaw Warriorz Vol. 2" with Tha Outlawz soon. Also look for Da Riffs to be involved in the production again on some of those projects!

As you can see, the West Coast Mixtape Kings are doing it super big right now!

paper 01/10/05 | Snoop & Dre Talk Reunion
snoop dogg       Blender Magazine put Snoop Dogg on the cover of their newest issue. The article focuses on Snoops movies and career. They also approached him about a possible reunion with Dr. Dre. They haven't worked together in years - through no fault of Snoop's.

"I don't know why," Snoop told Blender. "You have to talk to Dre. I'd love to be back in the studio with him. We Don't hate each other, we love each other. About a year and a half ago, I said to him 'Lets make a record called Break Up To Make Up, just me and you on the whole album, no guest rappers.' And he didn't want to do it. We need hurry up and do it while people are still interested. I'm with it. What's up, Dre? Where you at?"
When Blender reached Dr. Dre, he laughed and replied, "Fuck it. Let's do it. Set the date.".

As always a lot of talk (for now), so lets see if they actually come through this time and make it happen. For the rest of the article hit up blender.com or pick up the latest issue of Blender, on newsstands now. Shouts to the homie Represent for bringing this article to our attention.

01/06/05 | Game Time
the game       I can't remember a west coast rapper getting this much hype, it must have been Snoop in '93 or something. With all this talk surrounding his debut album, positive or negative, everybody is eager to find out how good "The Documentary" really is. Can The Game meet the expectations or not? We say yes, the hype is justified. It's definitely a quality album, Game comes off dope and has some sick punchlines, even if some of the content is getting kind of repetitive like the large amount of references to other artists. Musically its sick, the best produced album in a long while. The production is a collection of high profile names ranging from Dr. Dre to Kanye West, Eminem, Just Blaze, Hi-Tek, Scott Storch, Havoc, and others. The blend of Game's vibe and the mixed (meaning non-regional) production makes it a good package. Listen to the entire album and find out for yourself, we're not gonna give it all away like that. Pick up the album January 18th or pre-order it online, you're not gonna be disappointed.

Tracklisting for "The Documentary":

01. Intro (Produced By Dr. Dre & Che Vicious)
02. Westside Story (Feat. 50 Cent) (Prod. By Dr. Dre & Scott Storch)

09. Put You On The Game (Produced By Timbaland)

11. The Documentary (Produced By Jeff Bhasker)
12. Runnin' (Feat. Tony Yayo)(Produced By Hi-Tek)
