| Damizza With New Album (Exclusive
Audio)
Damizza is gearing up for the release of his "Guilty By Association"
mixtape and album, two of the years most anticipated West Coast releases.
The Los Angeles-based beatsmith is in high-level talks with distributors to release
the "Guilty By Association" album in Jan 2006. Before the album drops,
Damizza will release the "Guilty By Association" mixtape. Artists appearing
on both versions of Guilty By Association include Nate Dogg, Knoc-TurnAl,
Mariah Carey, Bishop Lamont, DJ Quik, Strong Arm Steadys Krondon, Spitfya,
Latin Frozs Hen G, Butch Cassidy, Fingaz, O Shay, Sediva, Tri Star,
Logik, Bronek and more TBA.
After laying-low the last part of 2004, Damizza
is eager to get back into the musical mix. I'm so glad to be back in
Los Angeles working with the next generation of talent, as well as all of the
OGs, says multi-platinum producer Damizza, who has produced songs for
Mariah Carey, Korn, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg, among others.
Even though
Damion Young took the year off, 2004 was another successful year for
Damizza. He released Volume 3 of his acclaimed "Damizza Presents" mix
tape series. The acclaimed release featured new material from Mariah Carey, Eminem,
P. Diddy, Ashanti, Fat Joe, Snoop Dogg, Young Buck, Jermaine Dupri, Ice Cube,
Mack 10, DJ Quik, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, Butch Cassidy, Knoc-TurnAl, Jayo Felony,
Boo Ya Tribe, Bear and TQ. Earlier in 2004, Damizza released "Damizza Presents:
The Baby Ree Mix Tape Volume 2", a mix tape hosted by Pamela Anderson that
featured new music from Jadakiss, Nate Dogg, DJ Quik, Butch Cassidy and Jayo Felony.
Westcoast2k
would like to premiere the first single off "Guilty By Association".
The track is called "My Life" and features Mariah Carey with production
by Damizza himself. Knoc-Turn'al is helping out on the catchy hook which adds
a lot to the track. Hear it for yourself:

| E-40 & Third Degree
Do Their Thing On LP
Bay Area hiphop veteran E-40 will be featured on L.A. hiphop
artist Third Degrees upcoming single, Do My Thang. The highly
anticipated track is slated to appear on Third Degrees upcoming debut album,
The Pedestrian, which had originally been scheduled for release late
last year until legal negotiations held the album up. The disc will hit retail
outlets on August 2.
Third Degree (Wayne Gillory) walks it like he talks
it on this hook-laden, jeep ready album. Third, who hails from South Central Los
Angeles, grew up living right around the corner from Dub C of Westside Connection.
Says Third, I went to Hiphop High. Washington High School was where I came
up. A lot of hiphop artists went there, like Dub C, Crazy Tunes from The Maad
Circle, YoYo, DJ Alladin, and Sir Jinx, who DJs for Xzibit, and more. Crenshaw
High may have had all the sports people locked up, but Washington has had the
music people.
Thirds album is jam packed with 21 serious
tracks, including the single Do My Thang, featuring E-40. I
like real writers who have subjects and topics, Third proclaims. Im
a purist kind of guy.
While the intersection pictured on the albums
cover is the corner of L.A.s Imperial and Western, Thirds songs reflect
hiphop sensibilities emanating on corners in areas all over the country, so his
rhymes hit home with those who are both near and far. Wherever you are when you
listen to this album, youre still at the intersection of hiphop beats and
masterful rhymes, as the Pedestrian makes his way through your speakers.
The long awaited album is slated for release on Blak Ice Records.

| Appetite "Change Of Plans"
Mixtape
Anaheim, CA--With a never-ending sea of self-proclaimed
'rappers' and 'MC's' all flooding the market with self-produced mixtapes and home-recordings,
it's harder than ever for a new lyricist to emerge from the flocks of wannabee's
and posers. However, with 2 CD's nearing their release, Appetite is on the brink
of sprinting past the everyday rhyme slinger, and unveiling a style of music and
attitude deemed as uncommon in today's cliche'd hiphop music world.
The
first of App's offerings is the Change Of Plans Mix-tape, which is hosted by FOCUS(Aftermath
Ent./a. Fam Records) who also was quick to notice the distinction Appetite brings
to the table. When asked as to why he hopped onboard to host the mixtape, Focus
replied: "I got on it because Appetite brings difference to the otherwise
"bland" world of hip hop... I dig anything different. I support innovators."
Focus, who produced 2 track's on the Change Of Plans Mix-tape, is quickly becoming
one of the most sought-after producers(he is in Dr. Dre's camp for good reasons,
the man is a world of talent!) after having recently produced "Where I'm
From" off The Game's multi-platinum debut; contributing "Don't Think
So"(Kam) and "Watch Closer"(among a few others) to Sway & Tech's
Back 2 Basics album, as well as working on a slew of other yet-to-be-released
projects.
Appetite's Change Of Plans Mix-tape features 18 track's of Appetite's
top-of-the-line lyricism, and showcases a cut-throat attitude and really captures
App's frustration and hope. When asked to comment on the mixtape, Appetite stated
the following: "I didn't approach the verses for the mixtape lightly. Sure
it's a mixtape, but my name's going on there, so why sell myself short just because
it's a "mixtape"? and further adding: "During the process of recording
the mixtape, I was going through a lot of personal things, so you can hear the
frustration on the track's. There's a lot of industry bashing, simply because
I'm not "in" the industry, and I haven't really liked what I've encountered
amongst the industry. These dudes think they're on some kind of imaginary pedestal,
and me, I'm thinking "who the fuck are you?" Sure, you're in the industry
and I respect that, but don't think I think you're on a higher plateau because
of it." However, App's music biz skepticism turned reluctant when he crossed
paths with Focus. "Then I met Focus, through a friend. I played my music
for Foc, and I saw the reaction on his face, and it looked like he genuinely dug
what I was doing. So I asked him if he'd host the mixtape, and he came through
for me, and for that I'm beyond thankful. He treated me as a counterpart, and
not as if I wasn't on his level, so for him getting down with me like that, I
feel indebted to him, 'cause he did it on the strength of my music!" Appetite
says.
Though the mixtape is simply a vehicle to implement App's capability
to bring some rugged rhyming to the table, he also has 2 track's featured which
both appear on his debut, I Got Can'd Today EP, which will be released alongside
the mixtape. Both projects will be handled by Appetite and his producer/partner,
WhatsHisName's imprint, F.M.C. Media, and will be exclusively available on their
website: www.fmcmedia.com and other exclusive retail outlets.

| Oowee Feat. Snoop Dogg "Why
Cry" (Video)
We got a new video of the week which is the new video from
ATL rapper Oowee who has been making noise the last couple of months with his
single "Why Cry" featuring Snoop Dogg on the hook. The song is a "remake"
of Snoop's classic "Gin & Juice", and not only did he remake the
song but the entire video, almost every scene is based on the "Gin &
Juice" music video. Check it out and judge for yourself, but Oowee most definitely
got Snoop's stamp of approval as the Top Dogg is appearing in the video for his
part of the song.

| Audio / Comments On Nate Dogg
Album
After endless delays, Atlantic Records finally managed to
let the Dogg out...in a way or another. Atlantic is currently offering Nate Dogg's
self-titled album from 2003 for download on their official
website ($0.99 a download). Looks like that was the easiest way to get
it out after all, so collectors will be happy to finally get a hold of the album.
It's not a masterpiece but still a satisfying album - although somewhat dated
in some places. My only beef is that the album lives off of the high amount of
guest appearances (from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Warren G, DJ Quik, Knocturn'al,
Redman, Eve, Rob Stricklong, Memphis Bleek, Freeway, and others).
Westcoast2k
got 2 full length tracks up for download. These are the amazing "There She
Goes" featuring Warren G & DJ Quik (produced by Dj Quik), and the second
being the Fredwreck produced "Next Boyfriend" featuring Knocturn'al.

| New Royce The 5'9 & Ras Kass
Ras Kass recently collaborated with Royce The 5'9 on a new
track called "You Can't Hide". Ras is spittin' venoms as always and
once again proves why he's one of the illest MC's on the West Coast. This is definitely
a nice collabo and I wouldn't mind hearing more from the two. The joint is from
the new Royce The 5'9 mixtape "The King Is Back" which hit the streets
last week. Also catch Royce on the new "Back 2 Basics" album in stores
now.

The reunion of the Dogg Pound Gangstas is going strong with
shows, public appearances, and new tracks coming out on a regular, as well as
the new DPGC album in the works. On top of that you can see Snoop, Kurupt, and
Daz grace the cover of the new issue of The Source Magazine (July issue). They
got the main story in there so make sure you give this a read (or actually buy
it for a change) when it hits newsstands.
