05/29/03 | Snoop Talks Mixtape & 213

      Snoop Dogg talked to MTV the other day and said that his priority right now is the long-awaited debut album from 213 "The Hardway". Warren G & Nate Dogg have set aside their solo efforts to finish the 213 album, due this fall.

As previously reported, Doggystyle Records will release a free mixtape with unreleased material in the coming weeks. This will be a series of mixtapes which will include three volumes. The tracklisting of Volume 1 is posted below, courtesy of Yoyoma. They premiered The Eastsidaz song "Bacc On The Blocc" on Power 106 a few days ago.

sex and the studio      Digital Underground’s Money B and Cleetis Mack will embark on their "Sex And The Studio" Tour on June 25th. Money B said, “The tour will feature Digital Underground and Knumskull from the Luniz. We’re taking our vibe and our party on the road… we’re also gonna be performing in strip clubs and gentleman’s clubs.”Money B and Clee will also be performing their latest single "There I Go" which features porn star India. The song is featured on the soundtrack to "The Sex And The Studio" DVD which is sold as a two disc set.

Money B added, “It’s a celebrity based adult video series…it features hardcore sex scenes and interviews with entertainers and porn stars…I made my cameo and I got in the action too. I’m not just the president, I’m a client too.”

The DVD also features interviews with Redman, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Daz Dillinger, Ras Kass, Big Boy & Fuzzy, Felli Fel, De La Soul and others. The 30-city tour will include stops in Las Vegas, NY, Baltimore and Boston.

      The 11th Annual Adidas Hoops By The Bay Streetball Invitational took place last weekend in Venice Beach. Dogg Pound Gangstas Daz and Soopafly were also on hand at yesterday's event.

Soopafly said: "I'm gonna be a celebrity judge in the dunk contest. I'm looking for tight dunks with originality and hops.” Soopafly also announced that he and Daz are in the studio working on their upcoming "Tha Pound" group album. "We’re thinking of calling it "Introduction to Mayhem". Snoop, 213, The Eastsidaz are gonna be involved. We’re putting DPG out there real big again." Soopafly told The Source.

      Back with some audio updates.....A new Snoop Dogg promo single has hit the streets called "Get Up And Party" featuring the legendary Marvin Gaye. No idea where this is gonna end up but I'm feelin this song. Click the title to listen to the full song.

      Speakin of Baby Ree, here is some brand new audio taken from the inspiration for the current movie project, the recent mixtape release "Damizza Presents: The Baby Ree 2003 Mixtape Volume 1". The first track is a Freestyle called "Chip Da Curb" performed by Damizza, Kurupt & Roscoe over Dj Quik's "Dollaz & Sense". Next up a new song by Dr. Stank from his upcoming album "The Oder". Its called "Dangerous" and features Butch Cassidy, with production by Damizza.

Last but not least a new track by N.U.N.E. from Compton who is signed to Shade Sheist's PaperWork imprint. The song is called "Hey Baby" and its gonna be featured on his full-length debut album released under Bungalo Records. No official release date has been set yet. The producers who have already contributed to the album are Dj Quik, Warren G, Damizza, Shade Sheist, Bear and others. We'll keep you posted.

05/18/03 | Tha Eastsidaz Talk New Album

      More on the new Eastsidaz record "Statues & Limitations". Goldie Loc talked to The Source about their upcoming TVT Release in September.

"We're keeping it funky on this one sort of how like the first one was done. We working with Meech Wells, Fred Wreck, Battle Cat, and Dr. Dre and so far we got down with Redman and we got one called "Hog Mogs & Chit'lings" with Big Boi from Outkast" Goldie said.

Goldie also added that Snoop Dogg will have a limited involvement this time around. "We're in charge this go round, Snoop still with us, but he just fell back a little… he's still involved and he is gonna be on the album cover but me and Tray Deee are basically making the whole record happen."

Tha Eastsidaz also plan to drop their mix tape "Gang Bang Music Volume 1" in June as an appetizer. Their mixtape "Khakis and Chucks" is already buzzing in the streets. "Khakis and Chucks" features tracks suchs as "Milk & Honey" or "Bang To The Boogie".

      Snoop Dogg is looking to document his most recent battle with the LAPD in a film. Tentatively titled, "The Longest Yard," the movie will chronicle the Snoop Dogg All-Star's victory over the Inland Empire Police Department Enforcers during a football game at the Long Beach City College Veteran Stadium. The event was a fund-raiser for the Loma Linda Children's Hospital.

      Baby Ree Entertainment's Damizza, Shade Sheist, N.U.N.E. and Knoc-Turn'Al are shooting the beginning scenes of the first ever all-West Coast Mix Tape/DVD/CD also starring Butch Cassidy, Warren G, Ice Cube, WC, Mack 10, Nate Dogg, Snoop Dogg and Mariah Carey among others. The inspiration for this Mix Tape/DVD is Baby Ree's newly released mix tape, Damizza Presents…Baby Ree 2003 Mix Tape Volume 1 of 4. This venture is the latest in what some are calling, "The 'Ree'-invention of west coast hip hop."
The movie begins at Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho House, with Baby Ree producer Damizza, Knoc-Turn'Al, Shade Sheist and N.U.N.E. going to toe-to-toe with Butch Cassidy, Warren G and other legends of west coast hip hop.

      Here are some new confirmed release dates. The WBallz mixtape drops June 10th. It has brand new songs by WC, Snoop Dogg, Daz, Bad Azz, RBX, Soopafly, Tha Eastsidaz and others. Roscoe's "Young Roscoe Philafornia" is now definitely droppin June 10th, and both Daz' "DPGC... You Know What I'm Throwin Up" and Knoc-Turn'al's "The LP" are in stores July 1st. In other news, Snoop Dogg & 50 Cent will be on tour together July 9th.
