New Audio - Sept 29, 2002

Here is some spankin new audio as always. First off I got a new song by Crooked I, Sly Boogy, Planet Asia and Chino XL. Its one of the Felli Fell Themes for Power 106. They spit over different beats. Check out Sly Boogy, he's the guy who raps over Biggie's Who Shot Ya. Ill have an artist feature on Sly Boogy in the next few days, he's an up & coming rapper on the West, nothing to sleep on. Click here to listen to the song.

SNoop Dogg hooked up with RoC-A-Fella Recording Artist Freeway for the song We Get Around, which will probably end up on 'Ways debut album. The track sounds very Roc-A-Fellish, not my type...Click here to listen.

Their follow up to 1999's Spread Ya Hustle has guest appearances by Tray Deee, Threat, 19th Street's Sho-Shot, Roger Troutman Jr, Big Lurch and more. If you slept on their last release Spread Ya Hustle, make sure you get that album first. This is str8 dopeness and something you will definitely like. It has a lot of bangers with great production, and appearances from King T, KAM, E-A-Ski, Ras Kass, CPO, Mc Eiht and many more. Kali's Finest can also be heard on Tray Deee's General List. Here is some of that old flavor from their last album, I See You featuring Ras Kass.

Relativez ALbum Out Now - Sept 29, 2002

I got my own copy of the Relativez new album The Takeover the other day and I suggest you do the same, cause its definitely a blazin album. Something I noticed on the back cover and insert, they listed Snoop Doggs as Dogg, as well as Top Doggs name. I wonder why they listed them as the same name or if it was a mistake. Top Dogg is feaured on 2 songs, on the song Bounce and he's on the hook of Gangsta which also features Tha Realest (not credited). The song Gangsta contains an interpolation of I Wanna Do Something Freaky To You (=Nothing But A G Thang). .

Another album dropping next Tuesday is Xzibit's highly anticipated new album Man vs Machine. Make sure you get those albums.

Dj Quik Retires? - Sept 22, 2002

According to the homie Alex G, Dj Quik announced his retirement at a concert last night. He has one more Greatest Hits album droppin in November. Hes tired of people not playing his shit and him being underated.

Im sure Quik wont just disappear from the game, I guess he will stick to producing and guest appearances. This announcement shows what todays Hip Hop has come to. Talented artists feel totally underrated and not appreciated by the fans and media, which is very sad cause they put they heart into the music and are in the game for the love of the music while others are only in for the monay. Thanks again to the homie Alex for this news.

Cube Talks On Aftermath Debut
- Sept 19, 2002

"Two of the biggest masterminds in West Coast hip-hop are together again,"
Ice Cube said.

"Me signing to Aftermath was something that was kind of in the back in our minds for a while as far as Ice Cube's camp," Cube said. "We kind of felt around and saw if Dre would be interested in something like that. He was all the way with it. Once he was all the way with it, we just started working on putting the deal in place. We're in the process of making it work. Hopefully next year you'll see an album by Cube produced by Dr. Dre. For me it's exciting because my next album could be the best album I ever released. To me that's something that turned me on to where I just want to get on the mic.
Not really burnt out on making music, it's just the routine of doing it year after year after year," he clarified. "What works out for me now at this point in my career is to take breaks in between the records and it builds up my hunger to kinda get back in there. That's what I been doing. Dre coming on and me not having to worry about musically what's going to happen on the record — I just focus on lyrics and songs and content — that excites me, to be able to take a little of that pressure off myself and let the master, which is Dre, handle it."

The pioneers haven't hit the studio yet, but Cube is already penning songs.

"I'm writing," Cube said. "Dre's doing music. He's also working on his album. We're trying to get both albums to come out around the same time. Tour together. Make it a big, full circle."

Cube said he and Dre probably won't be taking their careers a full 360 degrees by participating in a N.W.A reunion.

"As far as I know, that's not gonna happen no time soon," he said. "I don't even know if I want it to happen now because I don't want to mess up what we've already put together, our legacy. Why even tamper with it if it can't be a smooth thing? If it has to be forced it shouldn't be done."

Kurupt Talks - Sept 15, 2002

Kurupt and Roscoe were down at The Beat Radio station last night. Kurupt wanted to clear up some stuff like that he was signed to Tha Row and that he was Vice president of the label. He said he's not tryin to make an album, but be a business man right now. He also said that alot of shit is going down on tha streets, and he had to make this song to speak his mind just to let everyone know. The song they played titled "I Didn't Change" basically was about what he's going through right now and how he's feeling about his family DPG. He was claimin DPG and saying he don't give a fuck what people say, and if they got somethin to say then they need to holla at him. Cuz as far as he knows he's still crippin and claimin DPG fo life! He also said he still loves his homeboys and doesnt know why his homeboys dont love him. Basically he was saying his kids come first and he needs to feed them any way he can. The song will be featured on his new album "Against the Grain". Roscoe said that his album wont be coming out in the near future cause theres too much shit going on right now. Kurupt also spoke on the upcoming pojects N.I.N.A and Crooked I album, which will be dropping after Nina. He also mention that Tha Row is currently working on albums from Eastwood, Spider Loc, and Big Foot. Currently Kurupt is workin on 2 movies, One is with Harrison Ford. Also another film with Kurt Russel and Ving Rhymes. He also just finished a film with Ja Rule, and Steven Segal called "Half Past Dead." Click here to watch the trailer for that movie.

The Streets Video - Sept 15, 2002

LA Times Says Biggie Hired Crips
- Sept 6, 2002

As most of yall probably heard by now, according to the L.A. Times and their theory, Biggie paid $1M and supplied his own gun to crips to kill 2Pac. To read Part 1 of the full LA Times article, click here.

Biggies family and Charli Baltimore released a statement, and basically said that the article which appeared in LA Times are patently false and are the most extreme examples of irresponsible journalism they've ever seen. The LA Times article takes facts on record and juxtaposes them with hazy, un-attributed remarks which are not the result of any legitimate investigation, but rather are simply an effort to generate further confusion and publicity. To read the full statement, click here.

Part 2 of the story will hopefully contain the evidence that everybody's lookin for.

LA Times To Reveal Pac's Killer!
- Sept 5, 2002

According to Page Six of the New York Post, The Los Angeles Times plans to disclose 2Pac’s killer by name in a special report tomorrow (September 6). The two-part feature, which runs Friday and Saturday, will be released in accord with the 6th anniversary of the rapper’s murder.

The feature will detail the results of an ongoing investigation into the rapper's 1996 murder in Las Vegas. Chuck Phillips, an investigative reporter, said through a slew of exclusive interviews, the periodical came to conclusions inaccessible to the LAPD. He said interviews police officers intricately involved with the murder case and even gang affiliates who have never broken their code of silence before this report.

Phillips said to The Post, "We're going to name the killer and there's a definite East Coast connection."

According to sources, the paper will implicate Christopher "The Notorious B.I.G." Wallace as having a role in the shooting of Shakur.

"I hope the paper got good evidence...this is going to blow shit up," Outlawz member EDI told AllHipHop.com. The 2-part cover story will run Friday and Saturday."

So, it was just kinda... It's like...why you runnin' to the aid of Dre and Eminem over this little cat? Why don't you make a song about Suge? Why didn't he make a song about Death Row or somethin'? He gonna make a song about JD, and all he gonna talk about is how short dude is. I just thought it was weak, really.

Hmm...interesting...To read the whole thing click here.
