paper 09/28/05 | Audio From "Armageddon: The Pre-Qual"
g-flow       Relic Entertainment is set to release their first project from Producer G-Flow next month. The project entitled "Armageddon: The Pre-Qual" is just a little teaser project for the actual "Armageddon" compilation dropping early next year.

"The Pre-Qual" is perfectly tied in with the "Armageddon" album, as it has the same artists that are gonna be featured on the big project. "The Pre-Qual" comes with all original songs from some of the finest spitters on the West Coast, such as Crooked I, Sly Boogy, RBX, Lady of Rage, Tri Star, Eastwood, Bo Roc, Caliph, any many more. So G-Flow came up with the smart idea to call all these artists back in for another session to lay down their verses.

We chopped it up with G-Flow to let him speak on the project and get the idea behind these two projects. So look out for his words later this week.

But this is not it! G-Flow hit us up with some exclusive audio from the "The Pre-Qual" project. These are songs from the aforementioned artists, including Crooked I, RBX, Calip, and others. All of them were produced by G-Flow.

Hit the links below for these exclusive audio tracks and stay tuned for the full feature on G-Flow.

» Crooked I - The Truth
» RBX - We Got Styles
» Hump feat. Tay - Grown Folks
» Caliph - One Mans Perspective

"Armageddon: The Pre-Qual" is due out November 1st and it will be available at all Wherehouses.

"Hustla's Handbook" Out Now!
mack 10       Guess Hoo Bangin? Mack Dime! The Inglewood rapper is back with his 6th solo album "Hustla's Handbook" which comes out today. It's a strong, 16 track deep record filled with hustlers anthems, including the lead single "Like This" featuring Nate Dogg.

Mack 10 reached out to a lot of new talents for features, such as Red Café, Wanted (consisting of Da Hood's Skoop & Young Soprano), Ruka Puff, or Bigga Brown. Other guest appearances come from Butch Cassidy, B-Real, Chingy, with Fredwreck doing the majority of the production on the album.

Westcoast2k got one last audio preview from the album. This is called "Da Bizness" and is one of my favorite tracks from the album. Fredwreck is providing the beat, and this collabo leaves us wanting more from the two. It was definitely a good look to have Fred oversee the project.

» Mack 10 - Da Bizness (Produced by Fredwreck)

If you like what you heard so far, go out and pick up a copy of "Hustla's Handbook", or order it online.

Daz Dillinger Flaunts His Lifestyle
daz & lifestyle
Although still in the studio recording their debut album, “Lubrication,” the rap duo Lifestyle, comprised of Snoop Dogg’s younger brother, Bing (Bing Worthington) and his partner, DJ Quik’s cousin, H.I.T., (Michael Anthony Tyler), are announcing they have just completed filming their first music video in support of their upcoming radio-driven single, “All I Need,” which was produced by the legendary rapper and producer, and former Dogg Pound member, Daz Dillinger. Daz says he wants the fans to know “They’re my little cousins, so I grew up with them.” When it comes to working with with the highly popular rap duo that hails from Long Beach, California, Daz says, “I like helping them out because I know they’re going to help their cousin, and vice versa.” In addition to having produced the single, Daz also appears in the video.

The former Death Row Records artist says he is heavily involved with the Lifestyle single and its accompanying music video because he very much wants to support the group’s record label, the Houston and Los Angeles based Lethal Entertainment. “I like the way Lifestyle is doing it,” says the ex-Dogg Pound member. “They’re on Tommy Bruno and Greedy Greg’s label, Lethal Entertainment, plus they’re independent.”

Daz says Lifestyle will make an important contribution to the roster of West Coast rap legends. Giving them a Dillinger-style endorsement, he says, “They’ll add more flame, more weed to the game!”

“It’s a beautiful thing,” says Bing. “To actually get to work together with Daz and do positive things.” Hit comments, “It’s a privilege to work with Daz, a real honor. He adds his trademark sound to our album with the song he produced for us.”

The video was directed by Christian Strickland, who has lensed music videos for artists including Three 6 Mafia, Juvenile, Rosco and Webbie.

In this exclusive hour long in depth interview, Quik lets it all out. He's known as the humble producer helping everybody out, but things have changed. As Quik said, "I don't feel like I'm underrated anymore, I feel like now motherfuckers is gonna have to stand up and give me a standing ovation, they gonna have to applaud me. They gonna have to celebrate DJ Quik".

The entire list of discussed topics in this interview is too long to list, but Quik spoke on everything, mainly his new album "Trauma". So come and take a ride with Mr. Quik, and get ready for the album on September 13th!

Quik also had a message for all his fans [available for Mp3 download by clicking here]:

"To all my fans, this is DJ Quik, and I'm sorry, I'm sorry for fucking being around losers for the last 8 years, being around fucking drugheads, being around angry motherfucking womanizing ass fighting people. I'm sorry I hung around them and fucked off my talent, and fucked off my good grades with my fans, and the people that know me for making hit records. So, just know that my best way to apologize to y'all, and to gain y'all favor again, is by making the best record that I could. And I've done it. It's called "Trauma", it's hot, it's ridiculous, it's brilliant, it sounds like nothing else you've ever heard on the planet. You will feel it. Some of the songs might make you cry, it's a lot of emotion in it, because I got it all out of me. And now I feel better. I'm happy, I'm healthy, the record is crazy, and hopefully you will accept my apologies. Thank you. September 13th, "Trauma". People get your ID's ready!"
